The service
A loft you'll actually go up into
Boarding out a loft is only half the job , if getting up there means balancing a ladder on the landing, the storage never gets used. We fit proper loft ladders that fold away into the hatch and drop down when you need them.
Most older hatches are too small for anything bigger than a suitcase, so we regularly enlarge them at the same time, re-trimming the ceiling joists correctly rather than just cutting a bigger hole. The new hatch is insulated and draught-sealed , a bare plywood hatch is a hole in your insulation , then architrave, trim and finish so it looks right from below.
Timber or aluminium, two- or three-section, with handrails where the drop needs one. We’ll advise on what suits your landing height and headroom when we quote, and fit alongside loft boarding in the same visit.

Before you book
Will it fit my landing?
Almost always. We measure the drop and the swing space at the quote, and pick a ladder that clears doors and the stair void.
Can you make my hatch bigger?
Yes , this is one of our most common jobs. The joists are re-trimmed correctly so the ceiling stays sound.
How long does it take?
A straight ladder swap is a couple of hours. A new enlarged, insulated hatch with a ladder is usually a full day.
Do you make good afterwards?
Yes. Trim fitted, edges made good and everything cleaned up , ready for you to paint to match.
